Sometimes our children need additional support in school in order to be successful. Our educational coordinator will meet with families to review their concerns for their child and their current academic progress, review records including work samples, progress reports, evaluations, and educational plans as well as provide recommendations. Families may also receive support in initiating and understanding the special education evaluation process and request attendance at meetings. Plans are developed on an individual basis so please contact us for more information! Please note that at this time we are unable to directly service Fall River Public School students. However, we may be able to provide you with additional resources for support.
BLC is committed to continuous learning and education. Not only do we participate in training opportunities, we provide them as well. We have collaborated with area parent groups, schools, colleges, and universities as well as business organizations to provide consultation and training on mental wellness, special education, stress management, neurodiversity, inclusivity, and LGBTQIA+ specific needs.
The Balanced Learning Center offers graduate and undergraduate internships available during the fall/winter, winter/spring, and summer terms for college students or recent grads. We also encourage community members and high school students to volunteer with us to collaborate on community-based projects. Our goal is to make every intern and volunteer who works with us feel included, valuable, productive, and excited about the work they're pursuing. If you have an interest in running groups, working individually with clients, grant writing, community organizing or learning more about the nonprofit world, BLC is the place for you!
